Public Decks is a curated catalog of pre-built flashcard decks covering common study topics. Browse available decks, preview their cards, and clone any deck into your library to start studying immediately — no card creation required.

Key Takeaways

  • Cloning a deck copies it into your library — changes you make do not affect the original - Cloned decks are fully editable: add, remove, or rewrite any card after cloning - Public Decks is currently rolling out gradually and may not be visible in all accounts yet

What Public Decks is

Public Decks provides a starting point when you don't want to create cards from scratch. The catalog contains curated decks for common study areas — vocabulary lists, standard knowledge sets, foundational concept collections, and similar content. Each deck has been structured to work well with Neurako's FSRS review queue.

This is particularly useful when you're starting a new subject and want to begin reviewing immediately, or when you want to supplement your own cards with a pre-built set for a topic you're covering.

How to use Public Decks

  1. Open the deck browser from the main navigation (Library or Discover tab, depending on your app version).

  2. Browse by category or search for a specific topic.
  3. Tap a deck to preview its cards and structure.
  4. Tap "Clone" to add the deck to your library.
  5. The cloned deck appears in your library and is ready to study immediately.

Cloning is instant. The deck and all its cards are copied to your account.

After cloning

A cloned deck behaves exactly like a deck you created yourself. You can:

  • Add cards — expand the deck with content specific to your course, textbook, or exam
  • Edit existing cards — rewrite fronts and backs to match your learning style or the phrasing your instructor uses
  • Delete cards — remove content that isn't relevant to your particular study goal
  • Start reviewing immediately — the FSRS scheduler treats cloned cards as new and begins scheduling from your first review

Changes to your cloned copy do not affect the original public deck or anyone else's copy.

In Neurako

Public Decks is the fastest path when a solid starting deck already exists. If it doesn't, pair a cloned deck with AI generation from your own syllabus or notes so the shared base and your custom material live in the same review system.

Availability

Public Decks is currently rolling out gradually. If you don't see a deck browser or discovery section in your app, the feature may not yet be enabled for your account. It is available to select users during the rollout period and will expand over time.
