Mobile App Tour
A tour of the Neurako iOS and Android app — main tabs, study sessions, and card creation.
Last updated 2026-05-23
The Neurako mobile app is available on iOS and Android. It has five main tabs: Decks, Study, Create, Explore, and Profile. Study sessions support swipe gestures for rating cards, and the Create tab lets you add cards via text, camera, or microphone — features not available on web.
Key Takeaways
- Swipe left (Again) or swipe right (Easy) during study to rate cards quickly - Camera capture and voice recording are mobile-only — web uses file upload and text input - Study sessions require an internet connection - The AI Tutor is accessible during any study session via the Tutor button
Main tabs
The bottom navigation bar has five tabs:
Decks
Browse all your decks. Each deck shows its name and how many cards are currently due. Tap a deck to open the deck detail view, where you can start a Study Now session, enter Cram mode, or run a Quiz.
Study
A combined view of all cards due across all your decks. Tap Start Session to begin reviewing everything that's due, without navigating into individual decks first. Useful for a daily review sweep.
Create
Add cards to any deck using text, camera, or microphone input. See the Create tab section below for details.
Explore
Browse curated public decks available in Neurako. Find pre-made decks for popular subjects and add them to your library.
Profile
Your account overview: study streak, XP, level, and achievement badges. Also contains the league leaderboard, account settings, and study preferences.
Study sessions
Studying on mobile is gesture-driven:
- A card appears showing only the front (the question)
- Tap the card or swipe up to flip it and reveal the answer
- Rate your recall by tapping a button or swiping:
- Again (1): swipe left, or tap "Again"
- Hard (2): tap "Hard"
- Good (3): tap "Good"
- Easy (4): swipe right, or tap "Easy"
- A small interval hint is shown before you rate — for example "Good → 4d" tells you this card will next appear in 4 days if you tap Good
- The next card loads immediately after rating
Undo: Tap the undo button (top of screen during a session) to reverse your last rating if you made a mistake.
AI Tutor button: During any session, a Tutor button is visible on the card screen. Tap it to open a chat or voice conversation about the current card.
Create tab
The Create tab is where mobile's distinct capabilities shine. It offers three input modes:
Text
Type or paste text directly. Enter a topic description, paste vocabulary, or write out notes. The AI generates draft cards from your input. This is the same AI generation as on web.
Camera
Point your camera at a textbook page, a slide on a projector, a whiteboard, or handwritten notes. The AI reads the content in the image and extracts flashcard-ready questions and answers from it.
After capture, you see a preview of the extracted cards. Review each one, edit as needed, and save the ones you want to keep.
Microphone
Tap the microphone and speak. You can dictate vocabulary terms and definitions, describe a concept out loud, or read from physical notes. The AI transcribes your speech and formats it into draft cards.
All three input modes end in the same draft review step — you confirm, edit, or discard each generated card before it's saved to your deck.
Camera capture and voice recording are mobile-only. On web, use image file upload (in the Create section) or paste text into the AI generator. The underlying AI is the same; only the input method differs.
AI Tutor (voice)
The AI Tutor is available during any study session. Tap the Tutor button on the card screen to open a tutor chat.
- Text mode: type a question about the current card or the broader topic; the tutor responds in text
- Voice mode: tap the microphone icon to switch to voice; speak naturally and the tutor responds with audio
Voice mode uses a live audio connection. It works best on a stable Wi-Fi or mobile data connection; it will not work offline.
The tutor has memory of your past sessions (within limits). It can recall topics you've struggled with and adjust its explanations accordingly. You can review or clear tutor memory in Profile → Settings → AI Settings.
Profile tab
The Profile tab is your account and gamification hub:
- Streak: consecutive days with at least one review completed — resets at midnight in your local timezone
- XP and level: earned by completing review sessions; more XP is awarded for larger sessions and higher streaks
- Achievements: milestone badges for review counts, streak lengths, deck creation, and other activities
- League: a weekly leaderboard showing your XP rank against other Neurako users in your league; leagues reset each week
Settings (inside Profile):
- Study preferences: daily goal, FSRS options (Pro), swipe rating toggle, notification schedule
- Account: subscription status, AI token balance, billing, account deletion
- AI settings: tutor memory management
- Language: app language preference
FSRS personalization settings — desired retention, maximum interval, and weight re-optimization — are available in Profile → Settings → Study Preferences on Pro plans.
